OUR PEOPLE • São Paulo
Parati is a species of fish found all year round in the region of Ariri, extreme South of the Paulista shore. It serves as food for many families on the islands, and also for commercial purposes, helping with family income.
Very tasty, the Parati can be consumed baked or fried. In the communities where there is no electricity, it is smoked for conservation, which gives the meat a special flavor.
